Elizabeth Karmel is excited to announce the launch of CarolinaCueToGo.com with fellow North Carolinian and barbecue compatriot, David Lineweaver.
The two grew up together in Greensboro, NC, and while Elizabeth went on to make Barbecue her career, David made banking his career, but North Carolina barbecue was his hobby and true food love.
In 2004, Karmel began working on developing Hill Country Barbecue Market and Hill Country Chicken. In the decade that has passed, New Yorkers have been introduced to and have fallen in love with Texas barbecue and in the past few years, many Texas-style outposts have opened in New York and Brooklyn.
Karmel began to realize that real North Carolina-style barbecue was woefully underserved in both NYC and online. She and Lineweaver would often talk about what they could do together to further the art and science of North Carolina barbecue. In July 2014, a light-hearted conversation hatched the idea of an online “Barbecue Shack,” and www.CarolinaCueToGo.com was born.
