Chef Elizabeth Karmel Launches Carolina Cue To-Go
North Carolina Whole-Hog Barbecue Ships to All 50 States
NEW YORK, NY (November 4, 2014) – Elizabeth Karmel, chef, media personality, and one of the country’s most reputable barbecue and grilling experts, is proud to announce the launch of Carolina Cue To-Go (www.carolinacuetogo.com), authentic North Carolina whole-hog barbecue available for shipping to all 50 states.
Karmel, a North Carolina native, launches the company along with her childhood friend David Lineweaver. The two went back to their North Carolina roots to offer the first national delivery service for authentic hickory-smoked North Carolina whole-hog pulled pork paired with Karmel’s signature Carolina barbecue sauce.
“North Carolina barbecue is hard to get outside of the state. Today, many iconic barbecue restaurants from other regions ship their barbecue, but not in North Carolina,” says Karmel. “As a born–and–bred North Carolinian, I can’t tell you how many of us check coolers when we fly back from visiting our home state. Now we can simply order from CarolinaCueToGo.com.”
“I think Carolina Cue takes the best barbecue traditions from the Eastern and Western parts of the state and combines them to offer unparalleled quality using Eastern-style whole-hog barbecue seasoned with my signature Western-style vinegar sauce,“ says Karmel.
Carolina Cue To-Go kits include hickory-smoked whole-hog barbecue, chopped cabbage for Carolina slaw, buns, and Karmel’s signature Carolina Cue Vinegar Sauce. The website also offers Carolina Cue Sauce by the bottle, and Carolina white grits and “Sweeties” hush-puppy mix for the perfect compliment to pulled pork sandwiches. Several sizes of barbecue kits are available, including:
The kits range in price from $49 for The Piglet to $129 for The Boss Hog. All kits are shipped packed with dry ice for one- or two-day delivery and are ideal for holiday entertaining or as a gourmet holiday gift. To ensure delivery of all holiday orders, Carolina Cue To-Go will accept holiday orders until December 22, 2014. A free gift will be available using a special holiday promo code (CCTGSA) for orders made through December 30, 2014. Gift certificates are also available for the recipient to enjoy after the holidays.
Carolina Cue To-Go is unique from traditional North Carolina pulled pork in several ways, including:
“Our Carolina pulled pork makes a great gift for expats who miss their home-state barbecue, as well as barbecue lovers, and people who entertain for the holidays,” says Karmel. “One bite of Carolina Cue will transport you to an iconic roadside barbecue shack. Our authentic small-batch barbecue kits also provide gift ideas for men and others on your holiday list who are hard to buy for.”

Elizabeth Karmel Launches Carolina Cue—an Online Barbecue Shack
Elizabeth Karmel is excited to announce the launch of CarolinaCueToGo.com with fellow North Carolinian and barbecue compatriot, David Lineweaver.
The two grew up together in Greensboro, NC, and while Elizabeth went on to make Barbecue her career, David made banking his career, but North Carolina barbecue was his hobby and true food love.
In 2004, Karmel began working on developing Hill Country Barbecue Market and Hill Country Chicken. In the decade that has passed, New Yorkers have been introduced to and have fallen in love with Texas barbecue and in the past few years, many Texas-style outposts have opened in New York and Brooklyn.
Karmel began to realize that real North Carolina-style barbecue was woefully underserved in both NYC and online. She and Lineweaver would often talk about what they could do together to further the art and science of North Carolina barbecue. In July 2014, a light-hearted conversation hatched the idea of an online “Barbecue Shack,” and www.CarolinaCueToGo.com was born.
“Finally, there is a place online where anyone craving authentic hickory-smoked North Carolina barbecue can get their fix in as little as 24 hours. Our Carolina ‘Cue is made from wood-smoked whole hog that is seasoned with my signature vinegar sauce. I think that it is the best that North Carolina has to offer—Best pig. Best sauce!” said Karmel
The e-commerce website launched on November 1, 2014 in time for holiday gift-giving and party-throwing.

RECIPE: Barbecue is beloved by everyone and traditional Eastern North Carolina Whole-Hog barbecue is the best-smoked pork that the region offers. Piedmont native Elizabeth Karmel created her Western-Style North Carolina (Lexington) Vinegar Sauce by taste memory when she first started smoking her own barbecue. And, she is known in barbecue circles for her signature sauce, which hits the perfect balance of sweet and peppery, and tangy with apple-rich vinegar. She used her sauce to season the Western-style Carolina barbecue (butts, shoulders and hams) that she grew up on, but in later years realized that by cooking the whole hog, and adding the belly, tenderloin and ribs to the hams and shoulders, you get barbecue with better texture and flavor. Her mash-up may not be traditional, but it is the best that the eastern and the western regions have to offer. This “Best in Class” barbecue is only available at www.CarolinaCueToGo.com . The online “Barbecue Shack” will be the “Go-To” source for anyone who loves Pulled Pork Barbecue!
